The title does not mean, campfire was horrible, it means “The next adventure starts!”. Our 11 day stay @ Campfire Safari’s was very good! We experienced a lot there, met new people, done crazy things and learned so much. The last days we even got to join a communication course for half-a-day and went to Moholoholo @ last minute.
Moholoholo is a rehabilitation center for any animal which got hurt by human doing. This mainly consists of eagles flying against power cables and other animals getting caught by snares of poachers. Poaching is still happening a lot and they are working on putting a lot of the power cords below ground. But that will take time and money. Luckily moholoholo does it best to save these animals. One thing which you immediately notice when you arrive @ moholoholo is that the atmosphere is pretty commercial, but they have to. It’s crazy the amounts it costs to take care of an animal and trying to release it back into the wild. And sometimes that even fails and they have to keep it in their own private reserve.
But now it was time to get on the road… yes the road to Cape Town. A trip of 18 days before we fly home, mm home is it still home it is so nice to be here could it ever be home. For me probably not but Simon wouldn’t mind I think. It definitely is an interesting thought. Anyway our little trip starting @Campfire Safari’s (Hoedspruit) goes on its way to Sabie where we stay 2 days. Then on to Ezulwini, Zwaziland after a night there St. Lucia is our next destination. Near St. Lucia is another reserve where we get the privilege of staying for 2 days in Cape Vidal. Yeez just typing this, sounds like a lot but that is just the beginning. On to Ramsgate, East London, Hogsback, Jeffrey’s Bay, Knysna and finally to Cape Town. At least that’s the plan :P
But while I’m typing this we already have arrived safely in Sabie Backpackers. Amazing place, nice relaxed atmosphere, they poi here with fire (which I tried) have a pool and very nice people. After a night of drinks and some sleep we’re in for a day of adventure. I’m dead tired of the canyoning tour we did this morning. It was a trip of 4 hours of jumping/walking in water and some climbing as well. But we survived and had some time to eat but quickly after we went to a nearby bridge where they attached some ropes and we could jump of it. It was crazily scary but very very awesome.
And we are on the road.. we have a Honda, although that might change tomorrow because of a problem with a tire. But it feels like one great holiday just went over and a new adventure has started!
AWESOME!
ps.: this blog is a few day old, but because of the lack of internet it has been put online now.
